How to generate matches for large groups (more than 32 players/12 teams)

Last updated on Jan 27, 2026

If you are organizing a competition and have more than 32 players or 12 teams, you may find that the system cannot generate a single large bracket or round-robin schedule for everyone at once.

The Solution: Create Smaller Groups

To successfully manage a large field of participants, you must divide your players or teams into smaller, manageable pods:

  • Divide the Field: Split your total participants into two or more smaller groups (e.g., Pool A and Pool B).

  • Generate Matches Individually: You will then be able to generate matches for each smaller group independently.

  • Progress to Playoffs: Once the group stages are complete, you can manually seed the top performers into a final playoff bracket if needed.

Still Having Trouble?

If you have divided your players but the "Generate Matches" button is still greyed out, or if you need assistance setting up a multi-stage tournament:

  • Recalculate: Try the "Quick Fix" by going to the three stripes (hamburger menu) > Request Support > Recalculate to refresh the participant list.

  • Reach Out: Contact Reclub Support through our feedback channel (Profile > Settings > Help > Send Feedback) so we can help you structure your large-scale event.
