Can I edit match scores after the competition has ended?

Last updated on Jan 27, 2026

Yes, but because finalized competitions lock their data for ranking and rating purposes, the process requires a specific structural rollback to ensure the integrity of the brackets.

Important Policy Information

Editing a score in an ended competition is a sensitive action. Because match results in the "Pool Stage" directly affect who advances to "Playoffs," you cannot change a past result without resetting the stages that depend on it.

  • Structural Reset: To edit a Pool Stage match, you must temporarily return the competition to a "Pool State." This will wipe and reset all matches and scores in the Playoff and Consolation stages.

  • Backup Required: Before starting this process, you must have a record of all current scores to re-enter them once your edits are finished.

Required Steps for Score Correction

  1. Re-Open the Competition: If the tournament is officially marked as "Ended," you cannot edit it yourself. You must contact a Reclub Admin (via Profile > Settings > Help > Send Feedback) to have the competition re-opened for editing.

  2. Download Scoresheets: Tap the three stripes (hamburger menu) in the top right corner of your competition and select Download Scoresheets. Keep this file safe; you will need it to restore your playoff data.

  3. Un-finalize Playoffs: Go to the Matches tab and select the Playoffs section. You must un-finalize and reset every match in this stage until the tournament reverts to the "Pool Stage" view.

  4. Edit Pool Scores: You can now navigate back to the Pool Stage, find the specific match, and edit the scores.

  5. Restore & Re-finalize: Once the correction is made, use your downloaded scoresheet to manually re-enter and re-finalize all playoff matches to return the competition to its final state.

Still Having Trouble?
